Charlo High School Students Turned Into Ghosts – Valley Journal

On April 22nd, students from Charlo High School participated in a mock automobile accident to help teens understand the dangers of drinking and driving. The event was organized by an excellent student of our Upward Bound Program, Madison Savage, as part of a community awareness project to better serve her future collegiate goals. Creative Cultures Trip: MSU Bozeman Tour and Sherman Alexie

What a great weekend! As part of a Native American creativity celebration activity our SKC Upward Bound students attended a book signing and stand up performance by well known author Sherman Alexie, made possible by the President’s Fine Art Series at MSU Bozeman. MSU Bozeman Trip

Thursday of last week, SKC Upward Bound staff Joanne Morrow and Allison Grant took seven students to Bozeman to visit Montana State University. All seven students attended “MSU Friday” on campus to learn more about the school. We were able to visit with two SKC UB alumni who are attending MSU: Blaine Leonard and Angela North Piegan. Helena Trip!

During PIR days last week, SKC Upward Bound got together with a some of our students. 22 students did ACT prep testing with Joanne and Luke, while 6 students worked with Heather on a college prep workshop. 28 students then went on a trip to Helena, touring Helena College and Carroll College. Students also saw “Wicked Tavern Tales” at Carroll College, an adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s work. Overall the trip was a success!
